Housing Workshop
Join IA at our Housing Workshops on the third Wednesday of each month. Sessions will be at Independence Associates from 1:30 - 3:30. Our first Housing Workshop is Wednesday, February 15. Topics may include:
- Learning about housing options
- How to search for housing
- Where to search for housing
- How to fill out housing applications

Statewide Independent Living Education Day
The Annual IL Education Day will be held on Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. Staff and Consumers from IA will travel to the State House and join the other 10 Independent Living Centers and other advocates in educating our legislators. The photos are from 2011.

Annual Holiday Open House

Brockton's annual Holiday Parade is held on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. IA is on the parade route and adds to the festivities by offering photographs with Santa. 300 families had their photos with Santa during the 2011 Open House.

Medicaid Matters Rally
3 members of IACIL traveled to Washington, DC, to give their support to the Medicaid Matters Rally on September 21, 2011. While there, they visited the offices of Representatives Stephen Lynch, Barney Frank and John Tierney, as well as Senator John Kerry.
2011 PCA Rally at the Statehouse
Staff, consumers and PCA's attended the 2011 PCA Rally at the Statehouse in support of continuing MassHealth funding of the PCA program.
ADA Day
IA staff and consumers typically coordinate a trip to the nearest celebration of ADA Day. The 2011 Celebration was held at Dunn Pond State Park in Gardner on Friday, July 22.

2010 was the twentieth anniversary and celebrated in Boston with a march, speakers and music. The governor and mayor spoke, along with many other advocates.
